The 1856 Sydney Mint Half Sovereign in Good Very Fine condition is, without overstatement, one of the most significant offerings in Australian colonial numismatics. This is the second year of issue from Australia’s first mint, struck just one year after the Sydney Mint opened in 1855, and as such, it stands among the earliest Australian gold coins ever produced.
