Minted bars, like this Lady Fortuna bar, are created using a high-pressure stamping process. This results in a sharper, more detailed design compared to cast bars. Cast bars, however, are often favoured for their larger sizes.

This product typically doesn’t come with a separate certificate. However, the bar itself is stamped with its weight and fine gold content, along with the PAMP Suisse logo, guaranteeing authenticity. It also comes in a sealed tamper-evident assay card for added security.

Veriscan is a proprietary anti-counterfeiting technology developed by PAMP Suisse specifically for their precious metal products. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

The Veriscan Process

1. Microscopic Surface Profile: Veriscan relies on the fact that even manufactured objects, like PAMP bars, possess unique microscopic surface irregularities similar to a fingerprint. During production, each Veriscan-enabled PAMP bar undergoes a meticulous process that captures a highly detailed digital replica of its unique surface profile.
2. Secure Database Storage: This digital record of the bar’s surface profile is then encrypted and stored in a secure PAMP database.
3. Verification App: PAMP offers a free mobile app downloadable on smartphones and tablets. This app functions as the user interface for Veriscan verification.
4. Scanning the Bar: The user can scan the surface of their PAMP bar using the built-in camera on their smartphone or tablet within the Veriscan app.
5. Matching the Profile: The app captures a digital image of the scanned surface and transmits it securely to the PAMP database. There, the captured image is compared to the encrypted record of the specific bar’s unique surface profile stored earlier.
6. Verification Results: The app instantly displays the verification results. If the scanned surface profile matches the one stored in the database, the user receives a confirmation message indicating the bar’s authenticity. If there’s a mismatch, the app will notify the user of a potential counterfeit.
